Prospective Students

Thank you for your interest in pursuing research studies in Transport in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies at the University of Sydney.

When lodging an application for admission, you are expected to have already discussed your research proposal with a potential supervisor or otherwise made arrangement with an appropriate school or research center within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology.

A statement of research interest may be developed in conjunction with a potential supervisor, to help ascertain background experience in research; this typically includes a proposed topic area, a review of research already in that area, specific research questions, and a brief idea of how the research will be conducted.

If you have not already been in contact with an academic who is willing to support your application or are searching for names of individual academics working in your field of interest, we suggest that you use Research Supervisor Connect (RSC), http://sydney.edu.au/research/opportunities. The University of Sydney’s Research Supervisor Connect helps you match your research interest with available research opportunities.

In conjunction with or as an alternative to the RSC, you may also wish to visit the websites of particular research groups or Schools within the Faculty for information on research activities within that department to help you find supervisors to contact. For a list of Schools within the Faculty of Engineering & IT, please visit http://sydney.edu.au/engineering/about/schools.shtml.
